Top 3 Winter Soups For The Soul

During the winter months, the bitter cold will eat away at your morale. Three harsh months of snow, wind chills, rain, and ice, are going to eventually pull you down. One of the things that we can all turn to is a bowl of soup. But there’s a special kind of soup for winter. It has to be rich, hearty and able to be treated as a meal. You need something quick, filling and delicious when you have come home from work.

Broccoli Cheddar
Broccoli is one of the most hated of all vegetables. Yet, when you put it into a soup and mix it with some hearty mature cheddar, suddenly it magically morphs into a delicious treat! But you have to mix it with something that is a little more forceful in flavor, which is why you may want to try a mixed olive ciabatta with it. You can also throw in some red chili flakes for an extra kick.

Tomato soup
One of the great soups of all time. Tomato soup is known all around the world, for its simplicity and its warm cozy taste. You can throw in a heap of butter to make it rich and velvety. Throw in some fresh basil for a punch of herb.

Lentil
Lentil soup goes well with a number of bread types as well as some baked vegetables. But according to Small Batch Soups it can also be tried with a simple glass of Malbec or some real ale. Lentil soup is lightweight, with a humble mellow flavor, so the additional beverage would go well as a compliment.
