Styling 101: 5 Different Ways to Wear a Two-Piece

Looking for a versatile piece that you can style in different ways? Then look no further. Here is my new two piece set and a couple of thoughts on how to style it, by Rosa Fairfield.

This is a bit of a follow up post to the recent: How to make an outfit out of anything. I thought this was such a versatile piece that I wanted to try wearing it in some different ways. Here are two of them in the photos and I have some more suggestions bellow:

The two knots
You can see this one in the photographs by the warehouse. I just really liked how the knots lined up under each other, I found it a little messy but ascetically pleasing. It's very simple to recreate too because all I did was knot my shirt and then knot the bra top over it. I thought it was something a bit more creative without being too crazy.

The wrap over effect
This is something I tend to a lot. The tie on the bra top was so long, I could pull it tight, wrap the ties around my body and tie it at the back. I put a t-shirt underneath it because the weather isn't that warm yet. I liked this way of styling it because I thought it was a bit more conservative and covered more of myself, which might be a better alternative if there is no shirt underneath it.

Mix n' Match
The great thing about two-pieces like this is you can wear them each as separates to create some different looks. I've taken to wearing the skirt with a plain tee, if I want something that feels super casual and comfortable.

Over the bikini
I also think very summery two-pieces like this are great to use as a coverup, if you are heading to the beach. Wearing the top over a bikini top, creates a really interested layered double bra effect. Alternatively, you could wear the skirt over a one-piece. You could even wear something like this as alternative beach-wear if you don't want to wear bathing-wear at all.

Wearing it open
If you put another top under the bra top, you can just wear the bra top open. This creates a super slouchy casual vibe. If you want to create something more interesting you could even tie the two ties dangling down in some kind of interesting way.

There really is so much you can do with this outfit, which is why I love it so much. I'm going to spend the rest of the day coming up with some different ways to tie the top. I just think it's such a great thing to add to an outfit to make it a little bit more visually interesting. It works so well too because the material is so light that you can change it into different shapes.

Thank-you for reading. I'm going to try out some posts where I try and style outfits in different creative ways... so watch this space. Please leave a comment bellow :)
