Fashion: Get Freebies with the Zaful Anniversary Sale

Grab a Freebie

Do you love a freebie? Then don't miss the Zaful Anniversary Sale, items will be at their lowest ever prices and free gifts will be up for grabs.

Zaful is an online shopping website, if you've been fashion blogger, you will probably have heard of it.

Why Do I Love Zaful?

Because they send me free things!!!! Just kidding. Getting items sent to you is a great perk but a lot of hard work goes into maintaining and running a blog, it becomes a 24/7 job sometimes, so they're not all that 'free'.

Seriously though, I really do love Zaful. This is why:

  • The website is stylish and easy to use
  • They have such interesting creative pieces
  • Their items have a cool boho vibe
  • There is also the Z.me community, if you sign-up you can share your pictures and get freebies

About the Anniversary Sale

I love a sale. I go crazy whenever their is one... constantly refreshing the page to see if they have the item I like in my size. Next month marks Zaful's three year anniversary, to celebrate they are having a special sale. During this time:
  • Free shipping for all Zaful products during the anniversary
  • They will offer chances to win gifts
  • Items will be priced cheaper than throughout the rest of the year, available while stocks last
  • When so many purchases are made of an item, it will be priced at a much lower price
  • If you buy multiple items, you will receive a discount
  • There will be a banner on Zaful's front page, click it to receive better discounts

4 styles I'm loving at the moment

Mermaid Themed Swimwear

My favourite Disney film is The Little Mermaid. When I found out mermaid themed swimsuits saw a thing, I literally started jumping up and down in my chair with excitement. (Yep, no over-exaggeration, I actually did that because I'm weird). I mean come on, the bikini actually has scales on the bottom... what could be better?

The Items:

Boho Crop Tops

I think I'm going through a boho faze at the moment, I'm just loving the whole Miley Cyrus 'Malibu' vibe. I've always loved crop tops. I don't get the whole, 'showing a bit a midriff is so daring' thing. I mean, it's just skin, everyone's got it.

The Items:

Left | Centre | Right

Ruffle Swimwear

If you visit my blog regularly... (does anyone actually do that?) then you will know I love ruffles. I'm glad I've finally found some swimwear that looks interesting. I always just used to go for a standard boring plain bikini top and bottoms.

The Items:

Left | Right

Bold Stripes

I always associate these kind of stripes with Gucci. I love the whole blue and green colours, mixed in with the orange. Also, don't you think they look like dress versions of silk scarfs? In a good way of course.

The Items:

So yeah... um... head over to Zaful next month for the anniversary sale. Also, just to be clear, you don't have to wait until next month to visit the site... you can head over their right now.

I always struggle to come up with ways to end my blog posts... and come up with cool titles that will also be good for SEO. Does anyone else struggle with that?

You know what else is tricky... trying to make an article that's over 500 words... Google loves it, but I also find I've said everything I want to in 300 words for less... that's why i'm starting to ramble now... blah...blah

Right, I think i've reached 500 words now

Fashion: 6 annoying things about fashion blogging

6 annoying things about fashion blogging

Well, if you want to hear me have a rant about issues fashion bloggers face, then this is the post for you, by Rosa Fairfield.

Photographs by Linda Smith

Don't get me wrong, I love blogging, if I didn't I wouldn't do it. It's just sometimes there are things about fashion blogging that annoy me. Most of the time, I just find them funny though.

1. Hecklers

From time to time, I'll be standing there, having my photograph taken for a post and someone will shout an annoying comment at me. Like... "you ought to smile love." Well, that's helpful, considering that's not the vibe I'm going for. I'm standing there, posing, feeling like a complete nitwit anyway, then having someone heckle you feels so darn embarrassing.

2. When Instagram Pod Groups get nasty

On the whole, I think this is a great idea - where bloggers can share their content directly with each other. It's when people turn nasty, I don't like it. When people start having arguments with each other, and saying not very nice things, if they miss a post. I mean really, it's not the end of the world.

3. When you get ridiculous numbers of people unfollowing you everyday

This is another Instagram problem. It gets so disheartening when you go into the app and find 20 people have unfollowed you. I used to get really obsessed with it and check it every 30 minutes. Now, I don't look at it so much, which makes me a lot more relaxed.

4. When people address me as OH! on emails

This really makes me laugh. I'll receive emails from people saying, "Hi, OH!" I think they must be those automated emails, programmed to use the first word of your website name. At least I hope so because who in the right mind would think my name is OH? I wouldn't mind if they had just used my full website name.

5. Battling the elements

Maybe this is just an English weather one? I'll plan the perfect photoshoot... and, oh no, it's raining... or it's super windy. (I actually like a bit of wind as it adds movement to the images but I don't want to look completely windswept.)

6. When people judge me

A lot of people tend to think I'm confident, vain, have a big ego or am very superficial because I have a fashion blog or that I'm very comfortable in front of the camera. I actually get quiet shy, I think that's what attracted me to blogging, it's a career with minimal contact with other people.

Travel Guide: Top 5 things to do in Venice Italy

Top 5 things to do in Venice

Want to learn how to do Venice like pro? Then check out my tips, by Rosa Fairfield

Wander & Get Lost

This is the best thing to do in Venice. Stray off the main paths and walk down the narrow side streets. You avoid the large crowds and get to have a more authentic experience.

Eat Gelato

Who can go to Venice and not eat Gelato? (Well, unless you are vegan or have an intolerance.) My favourite place has to be Gelateria Ca' d'Oro. I found their ice-cream had a great smooth and creamy consistency and no icy bits.

Visit the Old Town

This was where some of the narrowest streets were and the best mask shops. The buildings were crumbling and look as though they belonged in a different type, (well, of course, it is the old town). It was very quiet to walk around too, I only ever bumped into one or two other people.

Best in the Daytime

I was disappointed with night time Venice. I like sparkling lights like the New York skyline but this was not the case and most things were closed up. The street lamps reflected in the water looked pretty like the Van Gogh painting: Starry Night over the Rhône.

Stop in an Apartment

I stopped in a tiny, quaint apartment, which had this traditional Italian feel to it. Sure, 5* hotels are nice but this had so much more character and started to feel like home after a while.

The Dress

This is another dress from VIPme. The site has recently become one of my favorite places to order clothing from. I feel reassured that the items I order will be high-quality and I will receive speedy service.

They have sent me this dress as part of a collaboration and I have previously collaborated with them a few times. They have always been professional and respected my work as a blogger, which I feel says a lot about the company. This isn’t always the case; I have worked with some other companies previously (and will not be working with them again) who have been very rube to me.

It’s funny, I had my reservations about ordering this dress at first. When I saw the picture online, I wasn’t sure it made a statement. Then I tried it on for the first time and fell in love with it. The dress has a skater style shape, which meant it fit nicely to my body shape. A lot of clothes tend to be too big on my waist and small on my bottom so are comfortable to wear but the skater style of this dress meant it fit perfectly.

The material is thick and has an almost spongey quality to it, which means it feels great against your skin. That also means it doesn’t get too creased, retains its shape in the wind and offers some warmth.

Styling tips

I’d probably recommend wearing long hair in an up do because of the high neck, with some statement earrings and a bracelet. It works well with black shoes – either a chunky heal or a boot.

Travel and Fashion: How to be an explorer

How to be a modern-day explorer

Dreamed of exploring the world? Here are some simple tips to help you with your quest, by Rosa Fairfield

"... so one day my mother sat me down and explained that I couldn't become an explorer because everything in the world had already been discovered. I'd ben born in the wrong century, and I felt cheated." - Ransom Riggs, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Most things have already been discovered - although, I think it would be ignorant to assume people have discovered all the world's secrets - but there is something exhilarating about discovering a place you have never seen before. It is my goal to see and experience as much as I can in my lifetime.

How to be an explorer

You don't have to travel a million miles

You don't always need to travel to another country. There are amazing things to be discovered where you are. Sometimes you just have to get on a train... or even just start walking and see what you stumble upon.

See things with new eyes

Have an open mind. We sometimes can be so used to seeing things that we just dismiss them, instead of seeing their beauty. One of my favourite moments is when I'm in a car and the road around me is surrounded by trees and dappled sunlight is shinning through them.

Engage your senses and be present in the moment

If your mind is somewhere else, you will never truly appreciate the world around you. A great way to centre yourself is to engage all your senses, think about what the air smells like, even what it tastes like. I find sound works best for me, as it's my strongest sense.

Keep a journal

Write down your discoveries. If nothing else, it is a great way to empty your mind. To let your last adventure go so you can find the next one.

It's about the journey not just the end result

Exploring is never just about discovering the wonderful place, it is how you get there and sometimes this can be more exciting. There have been many times where I have ended up lost or in crazy situations, trying to get somewhere, that is all part of the fun.

Fear is your friend

It can be scary to do new things, to go places on your own... embrace it. I get really bad anxiety sometimes... but in a weird way I kind of like it. There is something exhilarating about feeling a deep sense of fear and then over coming it. To feel is to be alive.

Fashion: Bunny Rabbit print top and denim skirt

A picture speaks a thousand words

Find out why photography is an important part of my blog and the reason why I feel fashion blogging isn't vain or about 'looking good' by Rosa Fairfield

Please subscribe to my YouTube Channel

People tend to think I'm vain, especially since starting my fashion blog because I'm posing in lots of photographs and posting them online. I just... I've never really thought about it in that way, because I don't really think about fashion as dressing to look good.

I don't particularly care about 'looking good'. I like to look interesting. I like my outfits to communicate a mood or a character. I think styling outfits is an art and my body is just a canvas for me to use to create that. Then, I use photography to tell a particular story around that outfit.

Even though I do that, once I've had fun creating my outfits, I completely forget about what I look like. I don't even bother to reapply my lipstick. I like it that way because I can concentrate on my day and living in the moment.

Various people have asked me how they should dress to 'look better'... but I've never really been able to answer because appearance is relative and I think dressing should be about having fun and finding your own personal style. A lot of the time that might not conform to societies' ideal.

It may be odd, but I don't think of myself as looking like anything, when I see my reflection or a picture of myself, I'm almost shocked I have a face or body or anything. It's like, when I'm editing pictures of myself, it doesn't feel like that's me, just some random stranger.
