Fashion: 6 annoying things about fashion blogging

6 annoying things about fashion blogging

Well, if you want to hear me have a rant about issues fashion bloggers face, then this is the post for you, by Rosa Fairfield.

Don't get me wrong, I love blogging, if I didn't I wouldn't do it. It's just sometimes there are things about fashion blogging that annoy me. Most of the time, I just find them funny though.

1. Hecklers

From time to time, I'll be standing there, having my photograph taken for a post and someone will shout an annoying comment at me. Like... "you ought to smile love." Well, that's helpful, considering that's not the vibe I'm going for. I'm standing there, posing, feeling like a complete nitwit anyway, then having someone heckle you feels so darn embarrassing.

2. When Instagram Pod Groups get nasty

On the whole, I think this is a great idea - where bloggers can share their content directly with each other. It's when people turn nasty, I don't like it. When people start having arguments with each other, and saying not very nice things, if they miss a post. I mean really, it's not the end of the world.

3. When you get ridiculous numbers of people unfollowing you everyday

This is another Instagram problem. It gets so disheartening when you go into the app and find 20 people have unfollowed you. I used to get really obsessed with it and check it every 30 minutes. Now, I don't look at it so much, which makes me a lot more relaxed.

4. When people address me as OH! on emails

This really makes me laugh. I'll receive emails from people saying, "Hi, OH!" I think they must be those automated emails, programmed to use the first word of your website name. At least I hope so because who in the right mind would think my name is OH? I wouldn't mind if they had just used my full website name.

5. Battling the elements

Maybe this is just an English weather one? I'll plan the perfect photoshoot... and, oh no, it's raining... or it's super windy. (I actually like a bit of wind as it adds movement to the images but I don't want to look completely windswept.)

6. When people judge me

A lot of people tend to think I'm confident, vain, have a big ego or am very superficial because I have a fashion blog or that I'm very comfortable in front of the camera. I actually get quiet shy, I think that's what attracted me to blogging, it's a career with minimal contact with other people.
