Source

The tropical paradise island of Bali has been a favourite holiday destination for many years, and for good reason, with so much to offer the tourist, yet there are quite a few little gems tucked away that most tourists never knew existed. The locals obviously know of these special places, and are usually reluctant to reveal their whereabouts, and with that in mind, here are some of the best local attractions that are normally hidden away.

Munduk

This little-known mountainous area is situated in the north of the island, and this is the ideal place to escape the humidity that the coastal areas are known for. You can experience terraced rice fields, lush green forests and alluring waterfalls. If you stay at one of the Cantik Bali villas, you are perfectly located to be within easy reach of Munduk, which is definitely one place to add to your list of local attractions.

Negara

On the southwestern side of the island sits the town of Negara, which is surrounded by abundant paddy fields, which make for a great spot for some relaxation. In the background is the Bali Barat Mountains, which makes for a perfect backdrop for a picnic, and this region has a nice pleasant breeze most of the time.

Amed

Located on the northeast coast, the pristine beaches are empty when compared to the southern beaches, and the snorkelling alone makes this a worthwhile trip. Here you can experience farming life, as this area is not known by the average tourist, and you can see how the Balinese farmers live their simple lives.

Penglipuran Village

Without a doubt one of the most picturesque villages on the island, Penglipuran Village is lined with traditional Balinese homes, and by visiting, you can see how the locals live. Bamboo forests and lush coffee plantations make for the perfect backdrop, and you can sample some of the traditional Balinese deserts, which are absolutely delicious.

Lovina Beach

Situated on the northern coast of Bali, Lovina Beach is the perfect place to witness idyllic sunrises and sunsets, and the beach is a lot less crowded than most.
