Being Weird Is Good

"I tried for a short time to be something I wasn't, and had no success with it. It's a practical solution to just be yourself." - Kate Mckinnion

I'm often told that I'm weird or quirky and I used to think it was a really bad thing and I would try to hide that part of myself... but lately I've just stopped caring and I've accepted that I'm a strange person. Rosa does as Rosa pleases and if anyone has a problem with that then they know where the door is. Here are the reasons why I think weirdness should be celebrated:

1) Life is more fun with a little crazy
It really is. I'm the type of person that crazy, strange things happen to. Not all of them are good but they are all interesting and they have given me a lot of stories I can tell. My life has deffo been a kind of adventure.

2) Laughing so hard that you think your face will fall off
The best part about being weird is when you meet another weird person. That is when magic happens. You end up in all sorts of weird situations and you can bounce jokes off each other and you just end up having a super amount of fun.

3) Suppression is no fun
It's really not. Over different points in my lifetime I have tried to suppress different parts of myself and in each of those time,s I've just been miserable. The most silly one was probably when I stopped wearing colourful clothes because people laughed at my yellow shoes. Just be yourself and don't care about what the haters think.

- Also, it must feel so restricting to follow all of life's stupid little rules.

4) It makes you stand out
Use your quirkiness to your advantage. In a room of very similar people, be the one that is a little different. It mostly will work in your advantage and help you get that job or have more success with your blog.

5) You know who your true friends are
Over the years, I've kind of developed a sixth sense. I can automatically pick out in a room the people that are a little quirky and I gravitate towards those people. I also tend to become very shy and quiet around around people who are a little more conventional. If you're weird you kind of end up being a marmite type person and some people won't want to be around you but at least you know who your true friends are.

"At a certain point in your life, probably when too much of it has gone by... you will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are... especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful normals." - Phoebe in Wonderland
