TRAVEL: NICER IN NICE

A quick travel guide to Nice, France, by Rosa Fairfield.

"Other places may be fun, but when all is said and done, it is so much nicer in Nice" - The Boyfriend

As those of you that follow me on Instagram will know, I spent a week in Nice at the start of August with my bestie and we had a fabulous time. Well, apart from getting epically lost on our first day. We were trying to find the designer shops and ended up on a 5 hour walk around some strange backstreets. Only on our way back did we discovered the shops, and they were actually super close to our hotel. Next time we will be booking an extra, 'getting lost' day.

We stopped in Le Blason, a very pretty B & B located in the square seen in image one of the collage above. I loved the high ceilings and the antique style. This is great if you want something a little more traditional and less tourist-y.

My favourite places for tasty holiday treats:

Amorino - I've been obsessing over the rose-shaped ice-cream of Instagram for a while now, so when I found a branch of this Italian gelato chain, I couldn't help but try one. You can see mine in the photograph above. 33 Rue Massena, 06000 Nice, France.

Ballanger Confiserie Creperie - They sell a variety of delicious sweet treats. I had the above donut from here, filled with warm, melted milk chocolate, it was amazing. 13 Avenue Jean Medecin.

Multari - I visited here every morning to purchase a viennese baguette - my favourite because they are soft - for breakfast.  8 Boulevard Jean Jaurès, 06000 Nice, France.

The park is just beautiful, located near the main square, and the beach - although it can be uncomfortable to sit on the rocks. It's a great place to visit for architecture, I loved the mixture of oranges and pale creams.

One of my favourite places was the gardens at: Musee Massena. It's a peaceful escape surrounded by palm trees and other tropical plants and the building is great for a photograph or two. We fell asleep on a bench here.
